Aroma Oil's Main Functioning Substance
The efficacy of aroma oil varies according to how the components constituting the aroma oil are produced (biosynthetic), respectively. According to this, the acting substances of the oil are largely divided into terpine and phenylpropane. Aroma oil consists almost 100% of terpine and phenylpropane.

Phenylpropane is a by-product of amino acid metabolism, which is important for protein degradation. When phenylalanine, an amino acid, is decomposed, cinnamon acid is produced and an acting substance is produced from the cinnamon acid. For example, Eugenol, which is the main acting substance of clove tree oil, and cinnamonaldehyde, which is the main acting substance of cinnamon oil, have a stimulating and arousing action. Estragol and anethol help the autonomic nervous system balance and relieve convulsions in the digestive system.

Terfin is the most common substance among the acting substances of aroma oil. Thermine is classified into monoterpin, seskitterpin, diterpin triterpin, etc. depending on the number of isoprene units, but the most important thing in relation to aroma oil is monoterpin, and the second most important thing is sesquiterpin. 90% of the acting substances constituting aroma oil are monoterpin and sesquiterpin. Monoterpenes are classified into lower classes such as terpin, phenol, alcohol, ester, aldehyde, ketone, and oxide depending on how they act.

Monoterpin is mainly found in oils such as lemons and oranges, oils expelled from conifers, and all oils collected from herbs. Monoterpin is characterized by a relatively 천안토닥이 transparent color, weak viscosity, and strong volatility. Oil containing a lot of monoterpin is characterized by lightness and has the effect of clearing the mind and enhancing concentration. It also has a stimulatory and tonic effect. It has a strong preservative effect in indoor air, and depending on the type, it may have antibacterial and antiviral effects. Oil containing monoterpin can irritate the skin or mucous membranes when combined with hot water. Representative substances belonging to monoterpin include camphen, carbene, cymen, limonene, mycren, pinene, and terpinene.

Phenols, which are vegetable natural substances, are contained in several kinds of honey grasses and herbs. Vegetable phenols are well known for environmental pollution and can be advantageously used in the human body, unlike toxic phenols from cancer-causing mineral oils (鑛油). Oil, which is mainly composed of phenols, has strong antiviral, antibacterial, and preservative actions. It also promotes blood circulation and has the effect of raising blood pressure. Typical phenols include thymol and carvacrol. Long-term or excessive use of an oil containing phenol can damage the liver. In addition, it should be diluted and used on the skin because it can irritate the skin and mucous membranes. Children and pregnant women should not use phenol-containing oil.

The different kinds of aroma oils containing alcohol are used as the safest and most useful oil because of their gentle effects. Oil containing alcohol has surprising efficacy against microorganisms but is harmless to the human body. For this reason, it is particularly good for skincare or cleaning the body. In addition, alcohol-based oils usually have a very good scent, so they can strengthen the nerves and improve the mood. It is also generally known to have a slight effect on lowering blood pressure.
